Good Morning.

Here are the morning headlines.

1.Vinnie Ryan funeral 

The funeral of dissident republican Vinnie Ryan took place in Dublin, earlier today.

There was a heavy and armed garda presence along the short route from his home to the church of the Holy Trinity in Donaghmede.

The father of one was gunned down in a gangland style attack as he sat in his car outside his partner’s home last week.

The family have called for no revenge for his murder and insisted this would not be a “military” funeral.

2.Gerry Adams

Gerry Adams has garnered his party (Sinn Féin)’s nomination for Taoiseach when the Dáil reconvenes on Thursday.

After the announcement at Leinster House this afternoon, Mr. Adams has been quoted as being “very happy” with the nomination.

He also confirmed that Sinn Féin will be seeking the formal disassembly of Irish water “as soon as possible” when the Dáil returns to business

3.INTO – Brein McGinn

Members of the Irish National Teachers Organisation (INTO) have voted in favour of an industrial dispute.

The move is due to increased workload and conditions preventing job advancement.

The industrial action will not consist of strikes but rather will see teachers refuse to carry out after school administration as a work to rule measure.

4.Shannon – Adam

A 51-YEAR-OLD French polisher, who is currently appealing his conviction and imprisonment has been said by a judge today to have deliberately set a trap to cause a traffic disturbance..

According to Circuit Court President, Mr Justice Raymond Groarke, Andrew Shannon had purposely driven his car with the intent to  “set a trap” for the lorry driver travelling behind him.

Shannon has  had 47 previous criminal convictions.

5.Irish Passengers disrupt flight

A group of 25 passengers – many of them believed to be Irish – were escorted off a Caribbean flight by police in Gatwick airport on Monday.

The passengers, reported to be Irish, caused extensive delays to the Thomson Airways Dreamliner service.

The flight from Gatwick to Costa Rica was already experiencing delays due to technical issues.

Some of the 25 passengers allegedly became abusive towards staff.
