Submit your show ideas Now!

August 21st, 2010 | By Denis

It’s that time of year again when the DCUfm schedule gets an update. We’re looking for proposals for new shows. So, if you have an idea for a show that will grab people’s attention then please let us know. You can send an outline of your idea to info@dcufm.com. Remember, no idea is too weird, this is radio, anything’s possible!

We’re especially looking for shows in the areas of Drama, Irish language, ArtsGame shows and music shows such as JazzDance and Reggae/Ska.

If you don’t have a show idea and would just like to get involved then that’s more than fine too. We will be having a ‘Get Involved’ meeting early in the new semester. The meeting will be well advertised around campus, here on our website, on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=113474229131&ref=ts), and our Twitter (www.twitter.com/DCUfm).

We are open to students from all faculties. This is not a hollow offer, we really want to get all schools involved in the station. You don’t have to be in communications to work with DCUfm.

On a final note, best of luck to all you guys waiting for your CAO offers. I really hope we get to see you in DCU. And please feel free to drop in to the station any time if you’d like to get involved. The station is situated in the Hub and faces out onto the mall, you can’t miss us.

This week on DCUfm

May 10th, 2010 | By Alan

It’s getting very nostalgic this week on DCUfm…

Tuesday 7:00-9:00pm: DCUfm wrap party

A few of the people that brought you DCUfm this year, all together in the one room. We look back at some of the best bits from DCUfm this year and celebrate a successful year for the station. There’ll be music, chat, fun and your input – so be sure to join the party and text us!

Wednesday 7:00-9:00pm: Culture Café: Britpop Special

Relive those days as a youngin and take a trip down memory lane with Nessy as we relive some of the best of Britpop. The 90s wouldn’t have been complete without the likes of Pulp, Supergrass – and of course, the duel between Blur and Oasis. Join us for two hours of nostalgia, and get ready to dance around your bedroom once again.

Thursday 7:00-9:00pm: Culture Café

Nessy’s back with the usual mix on Culture Café - we talk to artists, film directors, event organisers and we’ll have more live music sessions in studio from Ireland’s musicians, but all with an edge. And for yet more nostalgia, be sure to revisit your favourite episodes on Nessy’s podcast page here.
