1.Drugs Seizure
€3 million worth of cocaine and heroin were seized in Tallaght last night in a joint operation between the drugs and organised crime bureau and Gardaí.
A search of a vehicle yesterday also uncovered four firearms. An AK-47 assault rifle, two .22 calibre pistols and a sawn off shotgun all with associated ammunitions.
Two men aged 43 and 31 have been arrested in connection with the drug charges and are being held in Tallaght Garda Station.

2. Appeal for IRA information
The family of one of the IRA’s “disappeared” has issued another appeal for information on the location of his remains.
Columba McVeigh, from Donaghmore in Co Tyrone, was 17 when he was kidnapped and killed in 1975.
He is believed to have been buried at Bragan bog, in Co Monaghan, but four searches, most recently in September 2013, have failed to find his remains.
The appeal comes as the 40th anniversary of his abduction takes places this weekend.

3.Volkswagen
Volkswagen are facing an estimated €600 million compensation bill in the wake of the co2 emissions scandal.
The resale value of Volkswagen cars has plummeted in the wake of the recent diesel emissions scandal. Earlier this year the company admitted that in the US and UK they had digitally manipulated the results of emissions tests resulting in the cars producing more emissions than we’re being read out.
The revelation also saw the former CEO resign.

4. Cycle Route
Plans for a cycle route between Dublin and Galway have been put on hold my Transport Minister Paschal Donohue, following objections from farmers over their private land.
The route is intended to be Ireland’s first coast to coast, inter-city route for cyclists, which the Department of Transport says will offer an off-road experience for long-distance cycle tourists.
The Minister has withdrawn funding for the Galway part of the route and is expected to re-draw up plans in the coming days.

5.Centre Parcs
Center Parcs has submitted a planning application to Longford County Council today, seeking approval to develop Center Parcs Longford Forest.
The proposed centre will be located on a 395 acre site at Newcastle Wood, some five kilometres from Ballymahon.
The county council are now expected to undertake a five week period of public consultation. Plans for the proposed project will go on public display at council offices during this period.
