Here are the morning headlines.
1.TXFM closing down
Dublin based alternative rock radio station, TXFM have not applied to renew their broadcasting licence.
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland said this afternoon that it received no application for the licence which has been advertised since last December. Sources say the reason behind the decision was that the station not being able to turn over a profit.
Their current licence expires on the 26th of October this year.

2.DART Reversal
Irish Rail have scrapped plans to run DART services at a 10 minute frequency. The change had been due to come in to effect on April 10th.
The national rail operator has said the decision has come as a result of trade union intransigence between SIPTU and NBRU who represent DART drivers.SIPTU have denied that the decision comes from the actions of their union.
Existing services on DART, Drogheda/Dundalk Commuter, Maynooth/M3 Parkway Commuter, Sligo and Rosslare Europort lines will continue unchanged until further notice. There will be some minor changes to Belfast Enterprise services from 10 April.

3.ASTI
The Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland was voted to stop working the hours introduced with the Croke Park Agreement.
This aspect of the deal, which was agreed to in February 2011, required teachers to stay in school for 33 extra hours a year.
However, the decision was made at the association’s conference in Cork, where delegates described the extra work as demeaning and stupid, as most of the extra time was spent on what they called “meaningless” staff meetings.

4.Plane Hijacking
The man who hijacked a passenger plane, and forced it to land in Cyprus while he was strapped with fake bombs may be prosecuted in his native country of Egypt.
The Egyptian public prosecutor has asked authorities in Cyprus to extradite Seif Eddin Mustafa.
No formal charges have been put to the 59 year old, but he could be charged with hijacking, kidnapping, illegal possession of explosions and threats to commit violence.

5.Irish Death In Spain
A young Irish man has died in spain
It is understood the man drowned in the swimming pool of holiday apartments in the Costa del Sol resort of Torremolinos.
The Department of Foreign Affairs had confirmed that it’s providing consular assistance to the family of the man.
